Geelong Amateurs Club History

Geelong Amateur Football Netball Club was formed in 1926 when teachers and students from Geelong College and Geelong Grammar formed a football team to play in the Victorian Amateur Football Association – hence the green (College) and light blue (Grammar) colours, and the Pegasus logo.

From humble beginnings at Corio Oval to its current home at Queens Park, the Club has a proud history from its first Senior premiership in 1931 whilst playing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association.

The Geelong Amateur Football Netball Club is now regarded as one of the largest and strongest clubs in the league with approximately 1100 registered Football & Netball participants and fields on average 16 junior football teams, 32 netball teams, 200+ Auskickers and 50+ NetSetGo players.
